Ball Transfer Units
Available as ball cup rollers or flanged ball rollers
They are suitable for goods to be conveyed with a smooth and load-bearing underside. Due to their very low frictional resistance, they reduce the amount of work and effort required for unit load handling and enable transport in all directions. Ball cup rollers are attached and secured to a carrier plate with clips, flanged ball rollers are attached by means of rivets or screws.
The ball transfer unit consists of the load ball and a number of small supporting balls mounted in a shell. This design allows the load ball to rotate with low friction in all directions. Heavy loads can be easily moved without much effort.

Selection of the correct pitches
The pitch / distance between the ball transfer units depends on the length, width and transport direction of your goods. For particularly narrow pitches, a diagonal arrangement (offset pitch) of the ball transfer units can be selected. This results in twice the number of ball transfer units under the material to be conveyed in one conveying direction.
Calculation of the pitch
The pitch – the ball transfer unit distance – can always be determined by calculation. The smallest base dimension of the material to be conveyed – divided by 3.5 – gives the optimum pitch, which ensures stable transport. An example: 700 mm edge length / 3.5 = 200 mm as the smallest pitch.
Ball transfer units as transport solution for round material / tubes
When transporting round materials and pipes, only point loads occur. Ball transfer units are therefore particularly suitable for smaller diameters and small installation spaces.
